kalamansi sprouted // bridgeport, chicago, il // rolleiflex 2.8e
Having a community garden has been really nice because it’s forced des and i off the computers to tend our garden that’s a couple miles away from the apartment. Whether we’ve been biking there or driving there in the early evenings, we’ve been able to take the time to water the garden as well as see our plants physically grow. a lot of things planted are far from being harvest ready, but it’s enjoyable that we can pick around in our strawberry shrub for a mini bite or joke around that we’re getting our food dirty by spraying water into the dirt and splashing it onto the plants :]
and this has led des to planting new seeds in the apartment to see if we can raise them in the apartment via window light. we’re hoping this kalamansi seedling turns into a mini tree/scrub so we can pick some citrus seasoning right in our kitchen. and it’s a nice momento of home for des since they have kalamansi growing in their backyard.
