a thousand words... and some

technologically distracted = “yolo” ? // chicago, IL // canon 5d mkii

when i saw this, i was really interested… but then again, i guess we knew it was coming… with social media and technology, we spend more time absorbed into this digital vortex be it computer or phone… and it takes away from our living in the moment…

and these days with this whole “YOLO” junk… when i first heard it, i was like, ” what’s yolo”? and i was told it meant, “you only live once”… if you only lived once, you wouldn’t be spending so much time surfing the web… you wouldn’t spend so much time checking facebook, or twitter… or tweeting food porn and updating statuses of “look what i’m doing” if you only lived once, you’d go out and enjoy nature… or what’s left of it… you’d meet people face to face to laugh and talk story together… maybe that’s why recently the photos that have been speaking the most to me are photos of people just hanging out together…

anywho… on another note, when i was first told yolo meant “you only live once” i thought about it meaning another aphorism… “seize the day” aka “carpe diem”
